Sony’s ultra-HD '4K' TV unveiled

The new Sony ultra-HD ‘4K’ television will hit the US market this December. The ultimate television set has high definition video quality which is quadrupled from the resolutions of its previous television sets. It will be in other way, almost four times better than the ones which are currently in the market and are called as best HD TVs today, as said by Sony on Wednesday. The television’s screen will approximately measure 84 inches diagonally which would make the TV as good as four times larger than today’s ordinary 42 inches television sets.

‘4K’ in the television technology, is said to be the next step or probably next generation and considering this version of Sony’s television sets, it will have screen resolution of 3,840 by 2,160 pixels. It is basically known as 4K because it has horizontal edge resolution of around 4000 pixels. Due to such huge number of pixels, TV makers are ought to make huge screens without compromising with sharpness. According to Sony Executives, price of the new giant TV will be revealed next week and also it is said that, the set will be available in Australia as well not revealing the price.

Though this exclusive technology of Sony, very less video content is available suitable for it. But as an alternative, one can connect the TV set to a computer in order to enjoy the high-definition picture quality of it. In such way, people will get to see the videos in ultra HD ‘4K’ resolution with some know-how and techniques. Apart from this, the TV will also play a better role in playing DVD and blu-ray movies so as to make them look better. According to chief operating officer of Sony, Phil Molyneux, situation of launching this huge TV was not less than the time when cassette, CD and DVD were launched.

One of the most important things to know about this technology of Sony is, it makes 4K resolution digital projectors especially for movie theaters and now it has implemented this enhanced technology in their small screens. The entire TV industry was waiting for such technology to evolve in order to upgrade their way of watching the television. This giant television set will be available in Sony stores December onwards and also at some other selective retailers.
