Two weeks after the season premiere of the show, NBC gave a green light to return in 2013 for the fourth and fifth season, aiming to bring some of the best talented voices in the show next year. Well, it's good news for the dedicated Voice fans and they will be eagerly waiting for the fourth season to see some exciting new faces competing with each other. The renewal news isn't a surprise as NBC has already announced that Shakira and Usher will be joining the show for the fourth season.

Hosted by Carson Daly, The Voice is an American vocal competition show which started on April 26, 2011 on the NBC television network with four judges - Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera. The show follows an innovative format that includes three competition phases - the blind audition, a battle phase and finally, the live performance shows. The Voice immediately became a hit for NBC since it started airing for the first season in 2011, and it's successfully running its third season.

With an average of 4.5 following the first two Mondays and 4.3 on Tuesdays, the show has managed to grab strong ratings at the start of its third season. In terms of viewership, the singing reality show picked an average 12.9 million viewers on Monday and 12.5 million on Tuesday. Last week, the show announced that pop sensation Shakira and Usher will take over as the new coaches of the singing show when it returns for the fourth season, replacing Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. Reports suggested that Green and Aguilera will take the next spring off, focusing on their music careers and working on other projects.

Blake Shelton and Adam Levine will remain with the series for the fourth season, but the mentor line-up for the fifth season is still a long way to go. The Voice executive producers Audrey Morrissey, Mark Burnett, Lee Metzger and Stijn Bakkers, are looking forward to return with fresh new talented in the next season which is about to air in spring 2013.
