Radio station WXEG-FM, tuned at the 103.9 frequency has confirmed in its online statement that the musical event, X-Fest, has been cancelled. The radio station was supposed to sponsor the event which was scheduled on September 16th, Sunday. The venue for the festival was Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Numerous lovers of the event opted for advanced booking and hence, refunds of their advance booking fees is going to be made available on August 29 from 10 am onwards, at Bogart’s box office and Hara Arena, or at the point of purchase. This was according to the radio station WXEG-FM official website.
A representative from one of the sponsors of the event, Buckeye Harley Davidson said that, this year’s concert was cancelled because of lack of ticket sale. Apart from that, calls to the owner of WXEG-FM (103.9), namely Clear Channel Communication were not returned. The venues where the event is held annually, namely Live Nations and the fairgrounds refused to comment on any of the issues related to cancellations of the concert.
During the initial planning of the event, it was looking forward to feature new attractions and bands on September 16. The performers which were supposed to perform in the show were Sick Puppies, Seether, Dropkick Murphys, 10 Years, Pop Evil, Filter, Kyng, Falling in Reverse, Dangerkids and Young Guns. As mentioned before, there were supposed to be some new attractions in the line as well and some of them were 50-yard zip and mechanical bull.
With number of initial preparations for the show, entertainment venue in Cincinnati, Bogart’s created a Facebook event of Tuesday, especially for the concert. It featured Young Guns and Kyng, Seether with Sick Puppies which were the 4 bands scheduled to perform at the X-Fest. The event page said that if you have purchased a ticket to X-Fest at Hara Arena or Bogart’s box office, you can reimburse your fees at the same point of purchase from Wednesday, 29th.
X-Fest usually features local bands which compete among themselves for the opportunity to perform in the annual event. The festival flocks-up more than 20,000 fans yearly, on the fairgrounds to watch and enjoy the event.
